so i have noticed that when i put my car in any gear, it has a little bit of play(as in bein able to move it from side to side). i went to all the auto part stores in my town and they said it gonna be hard to get a shift linkage....does any one know where i can get one for a reasonable price?? id prefer to stay away from the dealership, but im kinda thinking its gonna be my only option at this point :/

 

Just change the shifter bushings and make sure the bolt is tight on the shift linkage

 

ok....will the part stores around here(autozone, advanced, napa) have the bushings??

The u-joint by the transmission wears out too. The bushings will only do so much. I would look at the zero play or mil-spec joints, they make a big difference. There is also a plastic bushing inside the shifter that you can still get from honda. Take the linkage out and check everything to see where the play is.
