HELP! hood wont pop
So my hood wont pop on my 91 ef hatch. the cable with the ball at the end isnt connected to anything so when i pull the latch nothing happens. i need to know how to open my hood without pull the latch. help please!
I cant go from the bottom my front bumper goes all the way under no space to stick my hand through. Theres spots in my grill i can stick my hand through i just need to know what to do
Probably way easier if you just removed the bumper cover so you could see what it going on.
But I don't think you can handle this since you didn't figure out how to get under the car and move the bumper and shields out of the way.
I guess you are just stuck shoving your hand through the grill and trying to find the connection for the hood release.
Just a tug towards the left side of the car and it will pop.
Try not to push on the radiator fins as bending them reduces air flow.

^remove your bumper turn signals, remove the 2 bottom 10mm bolts under the bumper, the 4 screws holding the bumper to
the fender via the fender well then the 4 14mm bolts for the support. the bumper support will come off with the bumper cover.
that will make things easier.

Slow your role. The cable with the ball at the end as in the part of the cable that attaches to the plastic lever in the car?
JDM cable is a ball for the sedan.
OP didn't specify.
Anyway, in this case, it would be easier if there is exposed cable in the car - just grab it with pliers or vice grips and pull.
If there isn't anything to grab then go after the bumper.
I just wanted to make sure I was getting this right because my old one was broke there and I just grabbed vice grips and pulled the cable that way. Wanted him to know that before we see a Honda rolling down the road with no front end on. ***** easier to take apart then put together
Its all connect on the inside of the car but at the grill is where it isnt connect and i think thats the part that hits something to pop the hood.( correct me if im wrong)
Are you sure its disconnected at that end or the cable snapped. If the cable snapped then try finding the leftover cable from underneath with vice grips. If there is none remaining to pull on you get to see how a Crx gets put together
Im pretty sure it disconnected. because the cable is just there not connected to anything and im pretty sure it suppose to be somewhere. so i just pull on it and it should pop??
Ok so I had the same problem. I had to have someone pull thehood pop lever and hold the lever in the pulled position then I would push down on the hood and pull it up real quick. The problem stoped eventually. Don't know why.
