zc swap
and by "header" are you asking head gasket or exhaust manifold gasket? I'll just go ahead and put both, DOHC ZC you'll have to order parts for 88-89 Integra similar to D16A9......as far as SOHC is it v-tec or non v-tec?
I'm sorry. Its the intake manifold gasket for the dohc
Alright I also ran into another snag. Since japan normally doesn't run catalytic converters and my state doesn't do emissions checks should I or should i not run a cat for motor health
It has nothing to do with motor health so that's up to you. The cat is the most restrictive component in the exhaust system. By removing it, you will sacrifice a little low end torque, but gain on the top end power. If you're running some "fart can" exhaust on an NA motor with no cat, it will be obnoxiously loud. I ran NA for a while with a header, no cat, and the rest of the exhaust was stock and that combo was sweet on my B20V! Very quiet!

most people use an aftermarket header for the CRX - use 2 1/4" exhaust all the way back and if you can get rid of the cat, by all means do it
Nah, it's perfectly safe. I wouldn't go through the trouble to port a stock manifold. Just removing the cat will free up exhaust flow plenty. The easiest thing to do would be to punch out the stock cat. This allows you to retain the stock flanges and mounting hardware and as stated, run 2.25" piping from there back if you plan to keep the car NA.
