Default 1972 Honda Z600, N600 and K24 powered Z600 Coupe by Meris Motorsports

Introducing Meris Motorsports' newly acquired project(s).

***EDIT (updated May, 8, 2012)
During late December 2011, I purchased my FIRST Z600 (see pics below) looking to install a K24a2 into it's micro body. But I realized what great shape that Z600 was in. As a result, I decided to fully RESTORE my "Golden Egg" project-keeping it oem stock.

Click here to see more pics of the Golden Egg Project Restoration: Honda Z600
http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...4162045&type=3

HOWEVER I was able to find ANOTHER 1972 Honda Z600!!!! This car isn't as good as shape as my first Z600 car but it is a PERFECT CANDIDATE to cut up for a K24a2 engine swap. With the help of Hasport, look for use to shoehorn a K24a2 into this 1972 Honda Z600.

ALSO, while buying this Z600, I also was able to purchase a 1972 Honda N600 as well!!!! This particular car will be restored just like the Golden Egg
For a glimpse of the Z600 K24 donor car and the N600, go here:

Car: 1972 Honda Z600 "Coupe" (as small as the original Mini Cooper)
Weight: 1100lbs. stock
Planned Engine install: All Motor K24, initially stock then fully built

Here are the old teaser pics of "The Golden Egg":

Thanks for looking and stay tuned!!!

Interested to see where this goes! There's a local autocrosser who has a Hayabusa motor in one, and THAT takes up a ton of space!

It's gonna be tough!!! But an engine subframe is going to have to be made. The engine will sit on it, and it'll bolt up to the chassis of the car....we hope *gulp*

Interesting project!! your going to need to keep us posted!

The biggest question of all....

FWD? Or RWD?

Seems to be its going to need to be a rear engine rear drive, seems like there little to no room for that large of an engine in the front, and evan if there was you would have one hell of a time getting the steering worked out.

getting the engine bolted up is no problem.. the problem is room....i just dont see enough room between the shock towers and also the firewall even if you cut it up and modify it...you could cut and modify the firewall and move it back but remember thats going to leave you little to no room to drive it lol.

Remove the firewall, then dry sump it, then put the engine on a 45 degree angle....

That should make it fit under the hood! Cool project though.

Thanks for looking guys! My plans for this Z600 are to be front wheel drive and NOT rear wheel drive with the K24

I know room will be a problem as far as width is concerned. When I met with Brian G, he had already test fitted a Kseries engine in a Z600. He explained how the engine/trans combo IS so wide that a subframe will have to be custom fabricated to make it work. I have yet to test fit it myself as the holidays and work are taking much of my time.

Expect new pictures soon of both the original 600cc engine installed and the test fit of the K24. Hopefully it can be done as I am HEAVILY dependent on Brian G's word.

There is no way a K series is gonna fit in that engine bay. I own two of them.

Oh there's a way. I can put anything I want in there if I had enough money. Heck, people even are able to put JET engines in cars! :-p

lets see it bro! my engine is out right now and the only thing i can do is MAAAYB move the seats back and cut the firewall back about 6 inches, but you still have the problem of width, you would not only have to custom center it on the sub-frame but then get your axels customized...
