My paint sucks......it is faiding really bad. I need to wax it but im really lazy...I think Ill just have someone buff the whole thing
the way the milano was painted from the factory was supposedly kind of different.
supposedly the primer is red, and then the only thing over it is clearcoat. I heard this from the body shop I have dealt with in the past (they specialize in acura).
anyway, that was his reason for some people screwing up the paint match on milano red, some will make it orange base or whatever (which you can see in orange street light glow).
as far as fading, no fading on the metal parts, but my spoiler is sure looking bad, it will be time soon to have it removed!

My spoiler, my trunk lid, and my hood and mirrors all look like sheit. That just leads me to getting a cf trunk, jdm folding mirrors, and a jdm front end.
yeah mine sucks ***. but that was from neglect before i knew what i was doing with wax.
funny you should mention the orange base for bosy shop work, because i had to have a door panel replaced froma deer hit and it matches in daylight but in street light its slightly orange.
Bah, im just gonna have it repainted in the spring.

mine is ok. my roof is starting to fade, and 1 of my mirrors are really bad. i was told that honda just uses a 1 stage paint, where they mix the clear in with the color.
my roof is kinda faded but using some painter cleaner works well...taking care of your car with a good quality wax will do wonders...
its a 3 stage paint with a gold base coat, a red coat then a pink tint over it....well something along those lines i forgot exactly the steps

I work at acura and think that if enough people complained they could make a warrany extension on it.
I too have a Milano red GSR. I have a jdm front end and recently had my rear emblems shaved. after these two mods it was apparent how fadded the roof, mirrors, rear bumper and the top of the quarter panel near the rear windows are very faded.

my last integra was milano red, i hated it, it would fade within a month of polishing it, it got to me that much that i sold it after 9 months and bought a granada black integra...which is sooooooooo much easier to keep and doesnt fade like red does
nice teg kelvin.
my 94 milano red is faded like a bitch too, esp around the mirrors, trunk, bumpers.. except on the quarter panels its not that bad. I highly doubt there would be any kind of warranty extension on it
but if there was id cry in joy

If youre asking me...its been on for over 20k now, and its a lot of fun. Finally plan on getting a few more things tweaked, then heading over to the dyno w/Hondata. I dont think I want to sell it
And B18cya...working out fine? Your tone in recent posts on HB would make one think otherwise

Its fading because the clear coat is tinted, and its oxidizing.
A quality abrasive polish should remove the fading. Make sure to follow up with a quality sealant. I say sealant and not wax, since sealants tend to last longer and have better resistance to high tempatures and UV light.
Klasse, Blackfire, Platinum, Zaino... all good choices.
I have a 96 and it was hella faded when I bought it. Now it looks good as new.

Milano Red uses an orange tinted color base coat (over normal primer of course), and then the clearcoat has a purple tint, which together give a red color. My friend's Civic looks like several different shades of red between his trunk, bumper, roof, sides, etc.
