Hi HT Team,

I'm looking to fit an Si (known as EM1 in Oz) rsb and fsb to my EK1 - but came across this Eibach kit while searching: http://passwordjdm.com/Eibach-Anti-R...7763C1539.aspx

It looks like a decent package and the brand has a good reputation handling wise from what I know of it. Also, the specs of the bars aren't that different to what a stock Si is.

Just to give you an idea of how much more expensive things are in Australia - this is the stock/discounted price my Honda dealer gave me for the Si rsb (doesn't even include the front!):

RSB - $193.00 stock order ($269.40)
D bracket - $8.00 each
Bushes - $11.40 each
Lock bolts - $7.85 each
End links - $138.00 each stock order ($192.30)
Mounting brackets - $27.10 each
4 bolts - $5.40 each
4 bolts - $2.75 each

 

What are your plans for the car? Are you still runing the OEM front bar?

 

Man I want Eibach's Sport-System. But first I would need a car worthy of it.

 

The Eibach Anti Roll kit is great for a street car. However, these kits are designed for cars with factory sway bars.

For the front: you would need the front LCAs from an EX model along with the d-brackets. It comes with endlinks.

For the rear: you need endlinks, subframe brackets and d-brackets along with all the mount bolts and nuts. Eibach sells the OE Honda pieces needed for the rear bar which may be cheaper than you going to Honda. The Eibach part number for the OE hardware is 4018.312HKR.

 

I had the Sportline Plus kit on my Del Sol and it made a huge difference in the handling of the car. I still have the Sportline springs on mt EJ, love them.

Yes, still running the stock 22mm fsb.

My plans are the keep the d series engine for the time being and upgrade to Koni adjustables down the track.

Other light suspension/tyre mods include Spoon Sports progressive springs (with EK1 OEM dampers), Mugen front tower bar and 15" Si alloys (195/50/15).

I have the EK1 model which already has the holes in the LCA - so all good on the fsb.

But I'm confused now - going by the picture below doesn't the kit come with all the necessary endlinks and bushings in the kit - can we tell from the pic what is missing and I need to source?

As long as your front LCAs have the endlink mounting holes you should be good to go. The EM1/EK9 front LCAs are different and the bar will not work unless you have the EX style LCA with the hole facing straight down.

Also, the picture posted is not the actual sway bar you would get. I know this because I've had these bars on my Civic and I work at Eibach USA.

 

You are definitely the right man to talk to then!

So, just so I'm clear (sorry if I sound noob) you're saying:

FSB
* The Eibach kits comes with all necessary hardware for the fsb (provided I have the correct LCA) - ie I don't need to buy anything else for the install.

RSB
* In addition to the kit, I need to purchase:
1. Endlinks
2. Subframe brackets
3. D-brackets
4. Mounting bolts and nuts
5. Lock bolts
6. Bushes

If you've got an EM1 your front bar is a 26mm.

I would just buy an ASR brace and swaybar combo or a Function7 brace and a 23-24mm bar and call it a day.

 

For the front you will need front D-Brackets and 4 bolts. Numbers 3 and 21 in the first attached image.

For the rear in the second image you need numbers: 30, 31, 32, 34, 36, 28, 35, 33. The third image is what is included in the optional Eibach hardware kit (part# 4018.312HKR) which is everything you would need for the rear.

But I have got a quote from Password JDM for the kit and an ASR subframe for $680 ($190 of this is for shipping to Australia) - so sounds like a pretty good deal to me!

I would get a quote from somewhere else. In my experience PWJDM is seldom the cheapest, and has expensive shipping.

 

did'nt you say you were trying to fit this set up on an Si (EM1)???

if thats the case its a direct bolt on installation on EVERYTHING in the eibach kit, you dont need anything (stock EM1-Si comes with front and rear sway bar) therefore everything you need is included in the kit

He was wanting to install the factory EM1 front and rear bars on his car until he came across the Eibach kit. He has an EK1 without sway bars.

JHPUSA is direct with Eibach and is a great company.

 

Not a problem! You're welcome! I want to mention that the ASR subframe brace is NOT needed with the Eibach rear bar and will NOT work properly with the factory D-Brackets you need as the mounting holes are spaced differently. The ASR brace has mounting holes to be used with the ITR D-Brackets which are obviously wider to accomodate the bigger bar.

Just get the Eibach front and rear kit plus all of the necessary OE parts you need to mount it. The ASR brace is not needed.

 

So will the Eibach F & R sway bars bolt right onto my '97 Civic EX? Note: I plan to install Moog front LCA's.

 

Just get the rear bar. Leave the front alone.

 

Why?

 

Because you already have one. Why spend the extra money?

bigger isn't always better.
