Default Meris Motorsports' newly acquired racing project

Introducing Meris Motorsports' newly acquired project(s).

***EDIT (updated May, 8, 2012)
During late December 2011, I purchased my FIRST Z600 (see pics below) looking to install a K24a2 into it's micro body. But I realized what great shape that Z600 was in. As a result, I decided to fully RESTORE my "Golden Egg" project-keeping it oem stock.

Click here to see more pics of the Golden Egg Project Restoration: Honda Z600
http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...4162045&type=3

HOWEVER I was able to find ANOTHER 1972 Honda Z600!!!! This car isn't as good as shape as my first Z600 car but it is a PERFECT CANDIDATE to cut up for a K24a2 engine swap. With the help of Hasport, look for use to shoehorn a K24a2 into this 1972 Honda Z600.

ALSO, while buying this Z600, I also was able to purchase a 1972 Honda N600 as well!!!! This particular car will be restored just like the Golden Egg
For a glimpse of the Z600 K24 donor car and the N600, go here:

Car: 1972 Honda Z600 "Coupe" (as small as the original Mini Cooper)
Weight: 1100lbs. stock
Planned Engine install: All Motor K24, initially stock then fully built

Honda N600

Here are the old teaser pics of "The Golden Egg":

It's the OG B-Spec class!
Stay tuned!!!

Cool. Motor in the front? Or rear? 13's? 14's? 15's? 17's? IMSA flares?

Scott, who is really looking forward to seeing what you do to this thing!...

Talking to Brian G at Hasport, it's looks like the engine can go in the front...but looking into other options. It's going to be a looooong build!

This car looks familiar. Did you get it from a barn in Vacaville?

You may have to get VERY creative in order to make the K series NASA H1 weight considering
the current 200 pound ballast limit rule. Good Luck.

Uhhh...I think these are SYNTHETIC sheepskin (no sheep were harmed for the making of the seat covers) lol

No, I purchased the car from Nevada County and as far as I know, the car sat in a barn for over 20 years.

LOL! Maybe he'll do a documentary on the build, and do an "IN DEPTH and personal" on the transmission builder. LOL!!

Not realistic to race in any wheel-to-wheel racing as body contact plays a HUGE issue. Parts are too hard to find if it were to incur damage. Maybe Monterey Historics or vintage racing would be the only option. Nonetheless, getting the K24 installed is our main focus.

You're not being a *****. LOL.. I don't think I'll be racing it in any wheel-to-wheel. See above. Also, if I were to do NASA events, maybe Time Trials? But you're right, HC will tear it up. Especially in SoCal :-O

When my folks sold (1995 or so) their property in Vacaville, the new owner moved 3 of these cars into the barn. I should go check if they're still there.

Looking forward to seeing this project progress!

The only update with THIS car is that I was able to find a carburetor for this so I can actually drive this car around with the orginal engine. Because this car is in such good shape (interior, exterior and engine) I'm thinking of restoring this Z600 and finding one that is more beat up to build and install the K24 into it...won't feel as bad hacking it up than a car that's in good shape and in running condition...although...

Since I just sold the Meris Motorsports Honda Civic, I'm in the works of building another race kaa...so the Z600 will have to wait for a while...
