Default CT3 5558 comp turbo vs gtx3071r garrett

hello everybody,

these 2 turbos have a lot of good potential.
BUT
which one is better for a 500hp street b16a2 engine?
which one needs less pressure to hit the goal?

is there anyone test this comp turbo?

500 horsepower to the WHEELS? or Crank (Brake) horsepower? The answer is NEITHER. those are only 50lbs/min units.

And even if they were able to be 55lbs/min + I'd still take a Garrett over a Comp Turbo. Just because Comp has a billet wheel, doesn't mean its great.

NEXT!!!..... NEXT IN LINE, PLEASE!!

You mean neither on b16 engine or on any engine?

A guy with this comp turbo with 20vt make 540whp.
And another one with leon 1,8 L make 600whp with gtx3071r
on racing fuel with water methanol system.
The tests was on dyno jet unit.

The strange thing is that the first one works with A/R.48.

I cant find honda engine with comp turbo and i am curius.

My goal is 450-480 whp.. which turbo for a b16a2 for street use?
Neather? another turbo ?

Again.

1. Dyno jet their numbers read VERY high. He's not making 540whp. maybe 540Bhp (Brake Horse Power) but not to the wheels.
2. on the Leon more than likely 600bhp (not wheel) and has pushed extremely high for the last 50 rpms to try and do that.
3. Doesn't matter if on race fuel, E85, or magic bean juice
4. 450whp, possibly A GTX3071, but more than likely a good ole fashioned GT3076R.
5. And no. DO NOT USE a .48A/R.

Great observations, but comparing Comp to Garrett is like saying your Dodge Crossfire is reliable because it runs great, versus a Honda Civic. 1 vs 10000...

Garrett is like a Honda civic, because almost everyone has one. Comp is like a Dodge Crossfire, perhaps also one of the least cars sold on the planet.

I only seen two Comp turbos in my lifetime, and one already burns oil for whatever reason on a customer's car. So IMO, it's already 50% failure rate...LOL

Just my $0.02

do some research and u will find the a lot lot of the top guys are now using Comp turbo, Felix Medina, Norris Prayonto, just to name a few. i started using it because of the oil-less unit they offer. u can literally put ur turbo anywhere with that turbo. but the efficiency really surprised me, and ive outlasted 3 precisions that were done in my shop since i got my Comp turbo. so Crossfire or Honda, the **** works great....lol

Well, there you go. Enjoy. (A few name drops don't mean much, considering they are sponsored and can get a number of turbos at a time in case of failure compared to the average user.) Hell, I remember when Comp was still Innovative turbo several years ago. Little has changed from my experience with these units thus far.. So, yes, many of us have done our research in ways that current dealers aren't made aware of.

But of course, I'm sure the OP appreciates any input for his options.
