LOL: video of all 4 wheels popping off at he same time at the AX! How's that possible? If you've ever forgotten to torque even one wheel, you'll know it starts vibrating really bad at first. They don't just fall off the car. This is just odd but SO funny!! You'll never see a lower RX7 than that!

 

If you can believe everything on the RX7 forums, it looks like a vendor had sold the wrong size lug nuts for the wheel offset. Hard to believe all the lug nuts popped off or sheered at the same time provided the wheels had been torqued correctly. Probably better to find this problem at the autocross than out on the highway, though!

On the rx7 forums, owner used wrong lug nut. But how the hell do you not know it's the wrong one. You would have to be a complete rotard.

 

I don't want to go back to 2007 to find the answer that the guy pitted next to him gave.

The vendor sent the wrong lug nuts (wrong size), but the guy pitted next to him said that he came to him and borrowed lug nuts from him. He had aftermarket lugs, so the borrowed lug nuts were the wrong pitch (same size needed), and they were tight going on, but in the process, he stripped them all out. They would have given him a false torque.

 

yeah thats an oldie, but man how embarrassing. Also that had to do some serious damage.
