lol...
i think the "car of the year" would be the car with the fastest times/best results... much like racing... simple...
I don't think we need to greet this with such hostility. He is simply drawing attention to the poll. You can vote for whoever you feel is deserving, for whatever reason you wish.
Why is this even a thread? Race cars get trophies for racing and winning!! Kind of downplays what the road racing forum is all about! FYI I would probably vote for the S13 though
West End Alignments Darin Nishimura's EF Civic Should be part of this. My opinion anyhow. So my vote goes to him and his EF Civic!

very nice cars but i dunno about this ricer popularity voting crap.. ill leave it all up to the lap times... and at that point u still can't tell because one driver is better then the other... id have to drive em all my self to tell u which is best !
Sponsorship is part of racing.
I think winning an award like this falls under that aspect of the sport.
I'd want this exposure if I had a team or was a driver trying to make a name.
If there were "coolest time attack, road racing, and autocross car" threads in this forum I would read that and vote, and would want to win.

Cool cars. For lap times on some of them that ran the World Time Attack in Australia 2011:

Tarzan Yamada rules! Cyber EVO is by far the fastest car.
I like the tri-wing Audi shot.
Check out some of the WTAC footage here: http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index...ac-on-youtube/

I think the majority of you miss the most important point.
Each of these cars are fast. It's the driver who has the most skill, and is able to get the most out of the car that wins these events.
I base my vote on WINS.
If the car and driver have many wins, vs a more attractive car, then id say it should be voted on as the best.
They built the best, it has a driver that is performing the best, the wins support it being the best.
Sooooo it would then be the best. Or at least the best at that particular time.
In regular sporting events the only true statistic that matters the most at the end of a season is who has the most wins.
I think the same should apply here.
Nowhere in this article did i find statistics of these cars seasons and how they faired.
If its in there someone point it out.
If not then this is a farce for handing out a title that says it was voted the best because of the cute dingle ***** hanging from the rear view mirror.
Wins dictate the best not anything else.

Ya let us drive them all then we can have a clearer view on whats really the best.
Seem like you actually just made a really good case FOR this contest. The number of wins during the season will depend on a great many factors. This contest is just for the CAR. There are many reasons to love a car, even if it isn't a winning car. Hell, I love the Tyrrel P34, even though it wasn't the fastest car of its era.
Sit down. YOU'RE the one who's missing the point.
It's a superficial contest based entirely on aesthetics and popularity. So relax. No one has a gun to your head demanding participation. Why you feel the need to overly express your opinion is bizarre to me.
That being said ...
... The Suzuki Cappuccino is easily my favorite car!! I voted NSX only out of Honda loyalty towards the OP, but there are some really cool cars on that list! I'm glad the OP posted this, thanks

I vote for proven winners and not ooooooooooooooooo I like that color combination on that car.. Lets see if we can find some drapes to match it
I thought I posted a link to lap times for a bunch of them???? Some of these creations are extremely fast, well built time attack cars. I like a bunch of them. What's with all the hate? They are just track cars on which people have spent a ton of time and money building and tuning. The NSX the OP posted about has been one of the fastest time attack cars in North America. It would be very, very hard and expensive to try to build a car to beat it.
Here is a good video to see how fast the type of cars in the poll go. Brian Lock is driving a car for the Redline Time Attack at Thunderhill back in 2009. The other cars on track at the same time give a good reference. They won the Redline Time Attack championship in 2010 in the modified AWD class.

Lots of money, Dell sponsorship one year, then Cobb sponsorship for 2010. Some build info here on MotoIQ written by Mike Kojima.

Billy Johnson drove the FXMD/Cricket NSX in Redline Times Attack unlimited RWD class, and won if I recall. Lap times can be found here:

1:18.55 at Willow Springs, 1:45.52 at ButtonWillow in 2009 for the Cricket NSX, which I think are pretty quick times. I like a bunch of these cars.
