Default aftermarket fuel pump- kicks on, but no fuel pressure

I have a 90 civic hatch, just put in a new tre performance 300lph in tank pump. I did a 40amp relay in line with 12g wire. It turns on as it should to prime, but getting no fuel to the rail. It has a brand new fuel filter, no kinks in the lines etc. The only thing I did notice is the sock on the pump sat a hair higher than the original pump, id say maybe 3/4"-1". I put 1.5 gallons of gas in the car just to get it up and running, the only idea I have is with the sock sitting up higher will require more fuel in the tank. Any input or anyone else that has ran the tre pump any advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I'm going to put more gas in it today and see if my theory is right. Nobody has had or heard of someone having this problem? I triple checked all the lines for kinks and there weren't any. So that leaves me to believe the aftermarket pump sits too high in the tank.

"nevereversatisfied" helped a guy about two months ago with the same problem. He'll know exactly what to tell you because I believe the other guy was having the same problem you are having. DONT quote me but I believe "Nevereversatisfied" had said that you need to use the stock sock. Hopefully he'll see this and chime in, but I do believe your theory is right though.

Also, if adding more fuel doesn't help, are you sure you wired it correctly? maybe it is running in reverse?

I added more fuel in small increments till it got pressure, It only needs a hair more than 1.5 gallons to pick the fuel up.

Aftermarket pumps with generic socks typically don't sit low enough in an EF tank. Walbro 255s come with an adapter kit that will place the pickup lower for EFs, not sure if you can get or use something similar for your pump, but I would look into spacing the pump downwards by bending/extending the bracket in some fashion. You don't want the car to lose fuel pressure at inopportune times even though you've got a decent amount of fuel in the tank.

Just for anyone else who happens to read this, I've also seen it happen where the hose from the pump to the stock fuel line has popped off inside the tank, so the pump was working fine but pumping fuel nowhere (moral: don't use spring clamps in this application). Something else to consider if anyone else runs into a similar situation.

all it is a fuel stopper i just crammed the broken peice in and then plugged it it in works fine but on walpro pumps they dont send long enough hose so you will need longer one
