Default Noise from the front right wheel/suspension area

Hi,

This has been bothering me since a while now. I had one of the local mechanics take a look. And as per his diagnosis replaced several parts already. Upper Control Arm, entire Strut assembly, Link and Bushings.

But the noise continues. I had replaced the rotors and pads too recently. I still don't understand what's causing the noise.

I hear the noise more when I go over road bumps. But also when the car stops or starts moving.

This is driving me nuts. Any suggestions please?

thanks

wheel bearing, the UCA wouldn't have anything to do with making any noise. Your mechanic is an idiot.

Jack up right side of car then spin the tire (car in neutral). If it is the bearing you will hear a spinning, gringing sound. Grab the tire at 3 and 9 oclock and see if you can alternate pushing with one hand and pulling with the other. Try at 6 and 12 oclock also. If there is movement the bearing is bad.If the bearing is good you could have a bad differential bearing or half shaft. Further investigation is needed.

Yes it can. If the upper ball joint itself has enough play, it'll rattle on certain bumps and cracks. This was going on with the '94 Accord Auto I'm driving now cause both upper ball joint has soo much play in them, it makes you feel like the ball joints gonna separate anytime soon. Got them replace with a $50.00 Egay kit though. Also, if both of the UCA bushings are bad, they tend to squeak. Especially with cheap Egay UCA camber kits.

OP, it may be that the sway bar endlinks are loose on that side which will make noise when you go over bumps due to the lower control arm that has to travel up and down. I've dealt with this before where some techs won't find it at all and I'd go in there with a prybar and lightly pry where I'd see bushings that I know squeaks or rattle. But, you never tell us what kind of noise your car makes? Squeaks, cluncks, rattles??????

And don't forget to check the strut rod bushings.......and I agree, bearing and UCA can cause noise,,,,,,however, never throw parts at an issue without testing/confirming

Not the literal Upper Control Arm, and I didnt say the bushings weren't the problem. Y'all need to read first, type second and proofread third.

hmm its too bad you cant replace just the bushings you have to replace the whole upper control arm..maybe you should do some research first

I have the same issue in my car. Replaced EVERYTHING in suspension and steering and still the squeaks and bumps persisted.

Problem was in fact elsewhere.

CHECK THE ENGINE'S central mount, the front one near the radiator.

If the rubbers are gone it will sound like beaten-up suspension.

correct, rotted motor mounts sound alot like bad suspension bushings. since they're pretty much made from the same materials.
