Default Anyone running a D16Z6 w/ A/C in their EF?

Hello fellas,

I am in the middle of swapping in an ODB1 D16Z6 into my 91 Sedan. The DX still has all the a/c components except for the A/C Compressor which I just ordered. So I don't really know how it will all line up.

The B15B2 still has the front A/C bracket with the pulley on it and so does the D16Z6. The B2 bottom bracket looks like it should fit on the Z6 as well.

I have both of the Z6 ones.

Which ones are best to use? I don't think the upper mount will work due to having to use the EF mount bracket on the driver side of the motor.

Since you just ordered the B2 compressor you are going to be using the B2 bracket.
I had power steering from a B2 on a Z6 motor and it bolted up with minimal modification.
(As I remember some engine webbing just needed to be ground down a bit.)

Just check the B2 bracket on the Z6 and see how it bolts up.
If you can get it on there, verify that the ribs on the compressor line up with the ribs on the crank pulley.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping the Z6 bracket works for the compressor since the B2 is so damn ugly. lol.

I was wondering if the LX came with power steering or only the EX?

LX did have it.
Not sure if it was an option, but I had it.

Damn, so I guess I need to see if I have power steering and/or air conditioning.

So I finally got my EF A/C Compressor in and it doesn't look like the hoses will fit on it neither will it mount to my PM3 Bracket I pulled off the D15B2. The EF air compressor fits on the EG A/C bracket as well, its just the tensioner doesn't line up.

Any input is appreciated!

I believe I heard that the 91 Honda Civic 4dr could possibly come with two different A/C Compressors. : ( Is this true?! TIA

I believe there are only 2 compressor that came on our cars. The hoses are compressor specific. Looking at your pics, I would guess you had the Matsushita compressor. Get that and it should bolt right up to your dx bracket and hoses. The pic above looks like the right one, but I can't say for sure.
