Default D16Z6 A/C?

Anyone know what other A/C compressors will work with the Z6? Specifically will the Y7 work?

Odd, I don't know what happened to the other post. The following reply was posted by globlctzn:

You need to be more descriptive, thats possibly why no one has awnsered you yet. I'll take a stab at it. First of all you ask about the a/c for the d16z6. In 92-93 civics these are r12 sanden unit. In 94-95 it is a r134a unit. Now you are trying to mount one of these compressors on a y7? It may work if its the unit from a 94-95 but deffinatly not with a 92-93 compressor. With the 94-95 unit you may be able to get it to mount up with the bracket from the d16z6 but i'm not sure.

Oh well, there it is. To answer your question, I'm talking about putting the y7 compressor on the z6. The z6 is a 94 w/ r134a already. The problem is the compressor seized and I don't feel like paying Honda a buttload of money for a new one, especially since all the problems w/ the 5th gen. A/C is in the compressor. A buddy of mine just took his off his 96 DX and will give it to me for $20. I'm just trying to figure out if the two are compatible or not. I know they're different since Honda redid the system for the 6th gen. civic but I know there are systems that are compatible w/ each other. Surely someone has tried this before.

the ac compressors are almost all the same its just the brackets and lins that are different so find the right bracket and go to town

sorry about that, I deleted my post because I realized I rambled on about something that you didnt ask! hehehe well **** for $20 bux it would be worth a try. I just ordered a fully rebuilt sanden a/c compressor for my 94 civic and it was $200 bux!! The main reason I did that is I live in Phoenix, and all these used ones I saw out there looked shitty (like lines werent capped off and stuff). The last thing I wanted was to get a compressor in there. Get my shiznit flushed/charged and have it break casue some moisture got inside the uncapped lines. Well look i'm rambling again.
