Default 2000 honda accord 2.3l f23

I recently was driving my car I was going up a hill and check engine light came on I pulled over it wouldn't start I had my gf sister bf run a diagnostic (he owns his own shop and is like 30 something) and he found out cylinder 4 was misfiring and he suggested a new engine I also have been burning a crazy amount of oil I also had like 7 other ppl tell me thats the best way to go since burning oil, misfire, and cylinder seems damaged also spark plug bottom was cracked he did a compression test in cylinder 4 was at 75 and lower

I would have your girlfriends sisters boyfriend do a compression check, without ripping the engine apart it will give you the most clues of what's going on in cylinder #4.

Ya that's bad, did he rule out a bent valve or something with the valves in that cylinder?

If the car was beat on you would have seen other clues that it was ran hard and put away wet.

What model of accord?
The LX and EX's have the Vtec engine which is a dime a dozen engine so you might just want to swap it out for a used one if you're sure the person who looked at it is correct in his assessment.

h22's are not a lot of work. alot of people bash them since they have less torque than a 2.3 or 2.2, but the F20b is a great motor and is cheap. The loss of the torque is made up by the extra 50 horsepower. Thats what I would do instead of another F23.

WTF? The f20b swap is essentially the same swap as an H22! And H22s dont have less torque than the 2.2 or 2.3.

you misread my sentence, I do realize that it looks like I'm saying the H22 is the subject of the 2nd sentence but I'm actually talking about the F20b. I should have typed that out more effectively.
