Default difference with obd1 and ob2 charcoal canister

what is the difference with a obd1 and obd2 gsr charcoal canister....the one i have in my car has two small holes on top of it (battery acid) and the state reff tech is tripping of it...can i still pass ref with a obd2 charcoal canister...is the gsr and ls charcoal canister differnt?

swap: complete b18c1 into 95 civic ex

I think the canisters are different but the way to check would be to go to acuraoemparts.com and see if they have different parts numbers. I don't know the laws but I would think that even if your chassis is OBD1, if you have an OBD2 cansiter it would be OK because it's a more stringent emissions system.
