Oil burning.
I have a 94 civic hatch dx, its burining oil from somewhere cant find the leak, my dad dosent think its the oil pan gasket or cam seal/crank case seal? i wanna do it my self, but idont really have the tools too.. any suggestions on what it could be??
Is it burning oil (out the exhaust) or is it leaking from somewhere in the engine bay? You have to de-grease the engine. Then let it run and see where it is coming from.
Common places are:
-Distributor gasket
-Valve cover
-Valve cover bolts
-Cam seal
-Oil pan gasket
-Rear main seal (inbetween engine/tranny)
-Spark plug grommets (pull the plug wires and see if the tops of the plugs are wet)

It's leaking from under the car onto the exhaust? Or the top of the exhaust manifold? If under the car I would guess it's the oil pan gasket. Clean it all up and report back.
