ITR tranny?
Ok ppl here is a quetion that's been running in my head. According to what I know, if your tranny has LSD, when you rotate one of your wheels/axle then the other one should rotate too. I bought my 96' ek hatch, and the previous owner supposedly claims that it's a 96' JDM B18C1 with an ITR tranny. But recently when I was doing my oil change and decided to rotate my wheels, the other wheel does not rotate whate so ever. Now I'm beginning to think I got ripped off, either way I already bought it. The funny thing is I found out the car has a OBD1 harness and running on a Hondata S100 P28 ecu. The real question is, does all ITR tranny have LSD and for all LSD tranny's, is one wheel suppose to rotate if the other one is rotated? Suggestions welcomed? I'm guessing its probably just a GSR tranny with short gears close to an ITR, since the tranny does have very short gears.
the best way to find out for sure without taking it apart, is to pull the axles out of the trans, and look threw the hole if you can see threw the hole then it has a oem itr lsd
and like the other guy said, if it has shorter gears it could be a b16 trans they are almost the same as a itr trans other then the lsd

If you can see through the diff hole and there is no bar in the middle, it's a LSD trans.
If it's an ITR trans, it'll have the same ratios as a b16 trans (look for 2nd gear to end around 61-63MPH at 8200 RPM) and it will have a sticker that says S80 near the front trans torque mount.

Are there any other ways of identifying it? Its been getting cold here lately and supposedly its going to snow sometime soon. So basically I don't want to take anything off in the cold. All I see without taking anything off is "J4D LSD"

The ITR helical LSD behaves as an open differential when one wheel has no traction. You can use the Helm check procedure.

How can u tell if the tranny got lsd?

hmm thanks. I'll try that next weekend when i have the time to raise it. but before i actually put the car down, i took out the passenger axle and turned the driver side axle with my finger inside the hole for the passenger axle. the bearing or whatever it is that the axle connects to is actually spinning the opposite way inside the tranny.
