This is a pretty random shorting problem I am having. I have figured out when it occurs regularly. My radio shorts out (turns off and turns back on) randomly. On the way home from work on Friday I tried to figure out when it happens. I noticed that if I accelerated really fast and then tapped my brake lights, the radio shorts out. Also, if I accelerate the same way and turn my headlights on, the radio shorts out. I've redone all the power connections on the back of my radio and checked the ground. I have really no idea where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated. This is a very weird problem and would like to get it figured out. Thanks.

 

Shorts are such a pain to find. Just run a separate power wire right to the battery and hook the ground wire up to chassis ground.

if your going to do this make sure you put an appropriate fuse in the power line near the battery.
