Default HID PnP Pattern Thread (pictures)

HID retrofits are the way to go for expected results. However, are some halogen housings better than others with PnP HID kits? Here are my two vehicles.

I searched for a thread like this without success. Please post your pictures. If there is a thread that I missed, please merge this into it.

Bad example: 1997 Integra GSR with HIDextra 9006 5000K with 35W ballasts.

My lenses are a bit fogged, but I do not think that is the main issue.

Not bad example: 2005 Odyssey EX with HIDextra 9006 5000K with 35W ballasts.

I may have to tweak the aim a bit. For both of these, I need to reinstall the 9006 bulbs for comparison.

HID bulbs and halogen housings just don't mix.

even Integra housings that have projectors will not look even remotely good.

Just too much glare.

OK. Thanks for the canned response. Did you see the 2005 Odyssey cutoff? It looks fine and it has reflector housings.

The point of this thread is to compile images of good and bad patterns. I suspect that there will be many bad examples.

I can't see the cutoff in either picture with all the glare.

I understand what you are trying to do but a halogen housing is a halogen housing. A housing that has a projector will be "better" than say a reflector type housing; but that's not really saying much.

I remember back in the day running something like 130/125watt Raybrig or CATZ H4's in my Civic housing. They were "bright" but overall clarity sucked so much.

I'm not sure how much PnP kits cost but a Morimoto kit from TRS is pretty inexpensive.

The Odyssey picture looks bad due to the phone camera. The GSR has no visible cutoff since the bulb hot spots are not at the proper focal point for the OEM projectors. I think that they sit too deep, leading to a diffuse beam instead of a columnated one. I'll measure bulbs in the near future to verify this.
