crx with lsvtec is idling high
ok so i traded my 240 today for a crx with a lsvtecand it is idling at 3 grand, now if i unplug the map sensor, the idle drops to about 1700 or so. the kid said he cleaned out the iacv and the fitv so i dont think its those. has anyone had this happen to them, im leaning toward a tps
but still unsure if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated

OK there is a hole on the throttle body that runs to the iac with it idling put your finger on the hole and see if it idles down if so you iac might be stuck open, also there is a flat head screw on your throttle body that is the idle screw it very well my be screwed way to far out.and check for any vacuum leaks around the intake.
ok so ive been working on it and got it from a high idle to a fluctuating idle, i took the intake off and covered the hole the fitv runs and its idle perfect so i took off the fitv and the white part that tightens it was completely loose so i tightened it and put it all back on, and it still fluctuates. i didnt do the lighter test to it to see if the piston plunges. im gonna try that tomorrow
I blocked off my FITV completely. The only downfall while I was still running a stock ecu was having to hold the throttle for a minute on really cold days at first start up. But after I converted to OBD1 and was able to control the target idle, no more worries with FITV tantrums.
Iirc, before I made custom block off plates, I just made a gasket to go between the FITV and intake, and another gasket between the throttle body and intake to block that hole as well. Made those gaskets out of a cereal box haha! And I used a dab of RTV to make sure I had a good seal. Worked great, cruised around like that for at least a year.
