Default Rack & pinion on gsr

I will be taking off the power steering off of my 98 integra gsr.
I was wonder since alot of the suspension is the same from civic to teg could i put the 92-95 civic rack & pinion in my integra? if so with what modification? if any?

Yep it will fit. I think you need different end link bushings.

But if you got your manual rack and ps rack infront of you, you can take what you need.

Also, unless you are getting your manual rack for free, just loop your ps rack? Or if you like the turn ratio on the manual rack Ill stop bothering you

Empty the rack by turing it lock to lock maybe 6-10 times, and then loop the 2 lines into a t and install a clutch master reservoir as a breather. Or you can just leave them looped and be done I guess.

Biggest thing is getting as much excess fluid out of the rack as possible. Don't want it BONE dry since it will need lubrication to work though.

Easier and cheaper than swapping racks. Unless of course you like the manual ratio like said above. I'm spoiled and bought my teg with a quick ratio pinion and looped rack already done.

ya i will attempted looping the lines if I dont like it i will get the rack, i mean the rack isnt expensive so im not that worried, it would be nice to turn with the rack though.
which lines have to be put in the t? the ones that come off the pump?

Nah, if you're removing p/s, you'll want to loop the lines on the rack itself. Will only be 2 of them.

a Power rack with the pump off the car is difficult to turn. there is a reason why the manual and power rack have different ratios. the manual rack is designed to steer easier while not moving and IMO gives the driver a better feel of the car and how it reacts than a looped power rack
