Default How to slightly mod a leased 2012 civic si

Hey guys, my name is Joe and I've never posted anything in a forum before so i hope you can bare with me and possibly help me out. Im no honda guru but I just leased a 2012 civic si sedan because it looked nice and fit my budget. I wanted to mod it slightly just to add some hp. Any suggestions on a few things I can do to the car that can be removed or reset when I return it and that wont cost me a fortune? Your feedback is much appreciated.

RRC/RBC manifold, larger throttle body, intake, exhaust, pulleys, flashpro (when it comes out + a tune) or just be ballsey and slap on a turbo kit. Everything you do to the car can be removed/reset. sounds like you just want it to sound more, get one of the manifolds and an intake and i think you will be happy once you can tune those two. The integrated exhaust port doesnt allow for race headers or any form of header, just a cat delete (test pipe).

Get a heavier rear sway bar, you can put on in about a 1/2 hr and makes the car more fun on twisty roads.

I found the eibach 21mm from a 06 to 11 will work, if you put it on upside down so it will clear the exhaust pipe.

I've compared the flange gasket between the 06-11 si's and the 12's and the coolant port isn't even close to being the same shape so not sure how well a rbc/rrc will seal to the fail 2012 head

thanks for the reply + tips gents, I was thinking more about getting a flashpro or ecu mod and an intake for starters. What would you suggest I install that wont be detectable by dealer, im able to reset to factory settings, that is not super expensive, and which will add some hp? As for intake what is most popular with a 2012 si?

I do do doubt you will find much out there for the 012 car, the parts I'm using are from the older cars.

Everything under the hood looks almost the same as the old cars but it different in small ways, so everything from old cars will need to be fitted, and in some cases just don't work on the new model.

Same thing under the car, the same but slightly different, so at this point there is alot of experimenting going on among new civic owners.

I think you will just have to wait or experiment on your own like I and a few other guys are doing.

thanks bee guz, so I guess I'll have to wait for '12 parts to come out. With that being said, is flashpro the same as ecu mod? For intakes, would one recommend Injen over K&N and cold air intake vs. short ram?

Also for more of a performance car, i notice that the si doesnt seem lowered enough. Is it possible to lower say about an inch with using existing factory suspensions or do i have to invest in coils? Im not looking to slam the car to the ground, just an inch would be fine to give it a more sporty look

I think chris from redshift has the coils worked out, he was saying that everything from the old si or 8th gen will work on the new cars.

He wanted to do some measurements on my car, but I think he found someone else and he recently mentioned that all the old gen will work on the new rides.

There is a writeup here about the coils check it out, I like the way my works with just the bar and the good endlinks, but there is always room for improvement, after I get done playing with the miata I bought I may just lower the civic, the miata works great lowered.

I saw just lower it on a nice set of springs and perhaps put in bolt on such as air intake or even just the K&N drop in filter. A set of wheels and tires are always easy to mount and off.

Flashpro isn't out yet but when it is it's an easy one to set back to stock to make the dealer happy. I'd recommend CAI over a short ram, it should give you better results.
