Like the title says he has a 2005 acura rsx Type-S he swapped the tranny out to a 1st Generation rsx. and now he dont have vtec and he has a check engine light for vss.


Supposedly the 05 readys Vss off 3rd gear and the first gen reads vss off Final drive?


He was told to buy a voltage ampifier so he did installed it RECHECKED RECHECKED RECHECKED RECHECKED and rechecked all wiring and still SAME THING.


Anybody been through this?

he should have known this to start with. you need a dakota digital or k-tuned or similar speed converter box.

if he had a trans problem and bought an 02-04. I would have just swapped the gears into the 2005 case. I wish I could be more help but without any more detail or being there this one is impossible to help with other than agreeing that he needs the dakota box. I've used that for several s2k gauge cluster swaps.

 

He installed the dakota box. still nothing.

is it registering in kpro? Do you have kpro?
