im starting this thread because im tired of stupid ads that are not related to anything im searching for. and spammers that are trolling the craigslist like the wheel shops that are always getting flagged but keep reposting the ads... i dont have a problem them personally but because they are wasting my time with their troll ads i probably will never go there in person to buy wheels.

im sure many are tired of this sht as well.
unless you are one of the people taking advantage of the system

flag all the stupid ads that do not follow the rules
all the ads that are trolls and spammers and other shops that are not supposed to post in that section(some shops have premium membership that they pay for as long as they follow the rules as well)
flag the ads that purposely post wrong prices in title to get in your search
flag the ads that do not post any prices at all or say BEST OFFER( because most of the time they have a price in mind but want to be stupid and wase people's time with counteroffers)
flag the ads that ABUSE KEYWORDS and put half of page of keywords when they only selling a driver side mirror for example.
you SHOULD use keywords thats what they are for to make search easier
BUT if im searching for rear LCAs and your ad has front headlights for sale with bunch of stupid keywords chances are that i will flag your post because you are NOT SELLING WHAT IS LISTED IN UR AD keywords.

if everyone here can pitch in and TAKE THAT EXTRA SECOND TO FLAG THE AD!!!!
FOR NEXT 4 WEEKS

this way everyone can see the result and hopefully a cleaner more organized car parts section

because out of an hour browsing for parts i spend about 20 minnutes looking at ads that dont have any relation to what im searching for.



a good example would be if best buy started using craigslist tactics.

you go online and search for nice 50inch LCD screen:
instead you get 50 results trying to sell you apple computers or screen protectors for your phone...

then you finally find the TV and it says BEST OFFER... you give them your best offer and they say well we want this much.WTF???

or best buy post an ad saying its 1200 dollars then you roll up to the store and its actually 1800 dollars and they say oh we just wanted to get you in the store...

u go pick up the TV and its 42 inch plasma tv instead of 50 inch LED tv that you thought you are getting.
now would you shop at best buy after that?

 

they should take away the flag button or atleast make it harder for your post too get deleted i just gave up posting my sol after getting flagged 4 times in 2 days with me following all the rules

 

yeah, well he is talking about using the flagging the way its suppose to be used. your just being flagged by straight up haters. my ITR got flagged once a week forsure. people pissed off you wont sell your 10k car for 2...

 

yea that type of flagging is not the same that also falls within abuse section.
and stupid haters always gonna hate because they are too stupid to go get a job that pays so they can afford the car they want...
they rather troll craigslist in search of cheap *** cars and parts.


but anyway.
i never flag a posting that is legit even though sometimes it might be on the limit but if someone put a time and made their ad with images and proper description i never flag them.

i flagged teh **** out of the shop posting wheels, and that ****in vinyl rap ****...

my search for wheels had like 3 legit post. 20 for some shop with FAKE *** wheels.

 

yep ive been flagging them too hopefully they get the hint.

 

we have shops that post on here as well. speed concepts is always selling exedy 1 clutch kits for $250.....which i never flag for a couple reasons #1 it's a decent deal and #2 it's straight

i only search by title which defeats the page keyword spamming that so many people do. i always flag fakes which you see a lot of with seats and wheels. rotas with volk stickers are always a good one. same with people who are way out of line with the price.

 

yea but they probably dont post 30 ads every day with same **** like the wheel shop.

 

Just to add to this. If any of you see the ads for buddy club wheels for 400 bucks, I recently met the poster of this. Him and his brother sell the wheels out of a local store front and out of their garage, and after talking with him he told me their replica's. I mean obviously they are for that price. But reading his ads he claims their buddy clubs and no where does he say replicas. I knew it had to either be a scam or something like this, so just wanted to give everyone a heads up. I have flagged the posts as I see them.

 

this is what my post is about. He sells most of the **** out of his garage. some of the wheels are in a shoe shop by fat burger and game stop.

these are the ads that make the search function useless because you are forced to search titles only and miss the parts that are listed in the ad.

you know how i got around that?

i search for "CRX" and get the phone book... but then its open on my PC, saved on my phone and tablet. so i check them till i get bored (maybe a page). then i check it at least once a day, then just look at the new posts. then it just takes a minute.... but if you wake up in the morning and want a spoon wheel, i guess our fvcked...

 

i guess people like wasting time going through garbage postings.
i was expecting more people to get involved in this.

it seems like the only people are flagging are the haters that been doing it for years cuz they jealous or whatever other reason for them flagging legit posts.


if people could at least flag the postings with unrelated keywords that would be a great start... that way we can actually search in main posting and find what we need instead of just plain old garbage.

 

I hate CL for this bs. It makes it so hard to find a part I actually give a **** about. No, listing "CRX" in your keywords does not make me anymore interested in your Integra doors or whatever other garbage you might be selling that has NOTHING to do with the model or part I'm looking for. It's even worse when you NEED that part and buying retail isn't really a choice.

I think CL ads without a price should be removed. Especially for cars. I get that you might have an Accord steering column that you're not 100% set on the value of... I don't believe you'd list the entire car for sale with little idea of what you'd like to sell it for.

I also hate searching on here because since threads are limited (which is probably a good thing due to some people), people will just list a whole mess or parts in one thread. If it doesn't have a picture, the ad's not even worth my time. If you can't even be bothered to take a few minutes to snap some photos, host them and link them in your thread or CL ad, then I can't be bothered with PMing (or better yet, the people who insist you email or text them for pics!) just to get the type of info out of you that should have been in your damn thread/ad.

I've seen sellers who apparently don't really care about moving their parts because they want each interested buyer to message them privately for pics and then give offers on the parts too. If you want to see how much you can get for it, list it on f***ing eBay.

For posting on here, post what the part is, maybe a little info about condition, post a price, and post a pic and how to reach you. It's not asking much.

I like how some forums require pics and a price or else the thread gets brownholed.

 

ive been flagging all those keyworded posts for a while but it seems that people dont get the message they still think that by putting 2000 keywords when selling a steering wheel is gonna help them sell it.

 

bump keep flagging hopefully well get it through their thick skulls that they should follow the rules like most people do. its for everyone's benefit to have clean auto parts section.

makes it easier to find parts you really looking for.

 

Just so you know, Post usually dont get flagged anymore.

They get ghosted which means they get sent to the last page, And the poster isnt informed.

 

I always narrow my search "by title only" and with "image only". sometimes I'll search the "all posts" in case someone misspelled a certain item.

tell me why im searching car parts and jordan concord shoes comes up. wtf mate!
