I test drove a manual 2012 Civic EX the other day and the interior lights did not work. The right side LCD panel on the top layer of instruments was not functional either. Power windows and moonroof were powered and functional.

Sales rep said since the car hasn't been through its PDI, there were some fuses that were not yet installed.

I am checking to see if this is normal, or if the car has potential electrical system issues. I am in Ontario Canada.

If this is in the wrong place on the forum, or if there is a better place - perhaps a thread - to ask simple questions, please let me know. Thanks.

 

Yea sounds like you test drove it before a tech performed a PDI on it.

 

they will leave some fuses out that control lights so they don't accidentally get left on and drain the battery while on the holding lots, then when the dealership gets the car they will install the rest of the fuses when they do their inspections

 

Most of that stuff was still off when I got my 012, it was just the switch position on my car.

There is a bunch of stuff that can be changed on the dash information panel, when I got my car if you refueled it the car reset the gas mileage stats. on start up.

The radio also needs some set up for better sound, the new civic takes some getting used to after driving previous generations.

 

Not to insult you or anything but is that the only 2012 Civic in Ontario for sale?Why the hell the rep. won't offer you other car? Why you should spend your time on thinking about the lighting problem buying a new car?

 

Just tell them to go put the fuses in? That should answer your question.
