ill b-16
i wonder if anyone has an idea about my problem, my2000honda civic sir burning blue under hard acceleration gone through two cat. converters i have a piece of exhaust pipe in place of the cat until i can find the problem and have it fixed please help thanks
Sounds like you're burning oil if you're throwing blue smoke...and alot of it by the sound of it if you've already replaced two cats...
How many miles are on this car and what kind of oil do you use?
It sounds like oil is either leaking past the valve seals or the piston rings and burning up in the combustion chamber, symptoms indicative of either a higher mileage motor or one that's been thrashed alot or has had the wrong type of oil used in it...
If it IS one of those two problems, you have a few options at your disposal:
Switch to a high mileage oil like Valvoline Maxlife or Castrol GTX to help control the burn off of the oil.
Use an additive like Lucas Oil Stabilizer
Pull the head and have a valve job done/replace seals
Pull out the pistons and and have the rings replaced and the cylinders re-honed.
OR, if you're lucky...your PVC valve may just be really really bad, causing excess oil to be forced past the rings and burned due to excess Positive Crankcase pressure unrelieved by the bad PVC. Check/replace that valve first, as it's the cheapest way to start to fixing your burning oil problem.
Good luck!

If you are throwing blue smoke under hard acceleration it should be your piston rings. Valve seals would be usually when you first turn on your engine. My GSR swap is throwing blue smoke when it's cold and bluish black smoke under hard acceleration.
