Default Is there such thing as the same last 6 digits on VIN?

did honda ever produce a car with the same last 6 digits on 2 cars? lets say a 1995 gsr and a 1995 ls integra...

my car got stolen, and they found it, but only the last 6 digits on the vin match. the rest dont.... my car was a 1995 ls integra but the vin of the stolen car they found has a trim of a 1995 gsr with leather seats....im just wondering if honda decided to use the same last 6 digits on two cars....anyone ever hear of this??? because i thought that the last 6 of that make was never replicated and is the only one for that car...maybe i'm wrong..... they are not giving me any other details about my car so this is all i have to work with.... your help is greatly appreciated!!! thanks!

Good question, the last 6 digets are the production number, what are the last 6 digets of your car? 94

Yes and no any thing before 2000 should be a letter for the production year,I worked at a auction in So Cal doing titles and DMV paper trail. Yes cars can have the same last 6 but the middle two will be different. The only way to tell is to see the vin behind the glove box if your has it and check the firewall vin also.

Also can do a auto check with the whole vin to see which one is the correct car, auto check is what DMV use to keep tabs on cars and to see that no black market cars don't get sold to dealers. Car FAX sucks and u have to pay a fat fee to scan ur vin.

So the same year car can have the same last six but the two middle ones can be different? Which middle two? The trim? And engine? Because it's the same year and everything....the only difference is that the car obtaineds' vin is for a gar with leather seats. Not an LS.....

You should run the actual VINs through one of the many online VIN-decoders. This way you can determine whether both VINS are valid, and see exactly what kind of car they describe.

Try this one:
