well, i think im gonna pick up my first EF this weekend.
its missing a bunch of parts like.
Interior, Suspension, Front end, so its a fat project.
I have a JDM D15B swap, and found a turbo kit for pretty cheap that i think im
gonna pick up also this weekend.

so im starting from bare shell.
but really stoked on putting this car together.
will have pics up and DIY's if i have a camera man.


Also have some questions on what would be
the best front knuckles to go with and rear disc?
is it DA front and rear?

Those work well.
There are many combinations you could go with though.
Closest to "perfect"for a daily drver, in my opinion, would be 90~91 Sedan EX fronts and Si discs in back.

gracias! well, got mad busy today picked up
a z6 last night and pulled out the zc from the EJ.
went pretty smoothly, was able to set in the z6
have everything pretty much put together except
throttle body cuz i need a new gasket. but had fun!

will have pics up of my D15b rebuild soon,
gonna take off the head and think imma invest
into titanium retainers, and dual springs.
more reliable when i turbo:]

 

What kind of power are you shooting for on the D15B?

Retainers/dual springs are not necessary unless you plan on running a bigger cam and turning higher rpms, which is relative to what turbo you plan on using as many of them will be out of breath by the stock rev limit anyways. Don't throw money away that could be used for a good tune. You should visit the forced induction forum, post a thread with questions about your boost plans/power goals, and get some good advice before you start with the buying parts process.

I want to daily it, but rip on some B series. There is alot of my friends
that have a H or B series but not built. I came up on the D15B long block
from doing this side job, so since i have it already, out. then imma just
build it cuz i have the complete sohc swap. wanna push around 240+

As you see there, you can make enough power on stock internals to squash stock H and B motors all day. I highly recommend ARP head studs for any boosted application though.

 

question, im workin on an automatic EJ. i just put in a Z6
just took off the auto flywheel from the old longblock and slapped it on.
am i supposed to use new bolts for the torque converter?
is there a special flywheel for the z6? Just put the motor together
and went to start it and it sounds like the starter is barely touchin the
torque converter to start the car. like the teeth are just rubbing on eachother.
