My accord with 230K miles on it started to miss on me yesterday. It was a complete miss, but it was pretty solid miss under load, and lower RPMs. Last night I changed the cap, rotor, plugs. This seemed to have helped, but it isn't completely gone. I still have a miss, but it is much more intermittent now, it was almost continuous at first.

I'm not really sure what to do next, I was thinking either the coil or the ignition control module. But, after reading some on here, I'm also thinking I need to check the egr valve.

Thoughts?

 

Could be any of them. EGR could be stuck open at times if it is intermittent I would take your ICM (Igniter) to auto zone they can test them there. Also check coil for resistance. Primary should be in the .5 to 2 ohm range and secondary should be in the 30 35 kila ohms.

Does the miss happen at cruising speeds?
