I've read a lot of threads asking about EF suspensions on EGs, and if its possible, from what I've gathered the rear will swap fine, but front requires EF forks, now my questions is, is there a disadvantage to doing this swap? I can get a set of Koni yellows for super cheap but they are for EF.

you benifit.. the shock body is about 1inch lower than eg . but same height in over all so you gain 1inch of shock travel.

 

Ok, thanks, I was worried the car might be too low, as I had read that happened to some people when they swapped, but since they are adjustable, I could just raise it up correct?

 

hard to explain. konis have adjustable perchs where you can place coilovers higher or lower on shock body. or adjust he coilovers yes would be better. i would also recommend extended top hats if your car is super low

 

Ok thanks again for the help, I'm going to pick up the struts then take a look at them. The car isn't super low now and I'm trying to keep it that way, I'm just pretty new to suspension tuning, luckily the car isn't being driven right now though so I have time to learn and adjust the setup.

 

Anyone else have any input or experience? pictures? I've seen a few threads with people saying it will be lower, but ride better. Although, one post I found said since the EF shocks are 1.3" shorter than EG, putting, for instance, a 1 inch lowering spring, you would be lowered 2.3" but ride like you were only lowered 1 inch, is this true? Also just putting stock EF suspension on an EG, would make the front lower than the rear would it not?

 

In my experience, I am against using suspension parts that are designed for a different car. The ride height may look decent and it will most likely handle better than stock suspension, but not nearly as well as a set that was made for your car. I used several sets of springs for my 92 civic from other models and then bought a set of Tein coilovers. The difference was night and day.

 

What about using EG springs on the EF shocks? Also, comparing EG to EG, would it be worth getting new springs that were 375 in the front, currently on the EG I think I have 275.

 

I would say yes. You can buy a decent spring/shock set-up for relatively cheap and it will be worth it in the long run.
