Default Engine stuck after installing transmission

After swapping in new transmission on my 1997 2.2 cl, I go to spin the crank its stuck. I look through the dusk cover looks like torque convertor in forcing the flywheel to hit the block. I loosing the bolts to the transmission now the crank moves freely. Can someone tell me what I did wrong?

What he said. But more specifically, the converter is notched to engage the pump where it slides into the transmission. The converter can be on the shaft but not seated all the way into the pump thereby pushing on the flexplate when you mount the transmission to the engine.
