Icon2 D16Z6 Turbo Manifold for TD05H-14B turbo?

I found this: http://xs-power.com/acura-honda-turbo-manifolds-9.htm, but I'm not sure how quality of a product it is. Does anyone have any recommendations for what would be a good, but somewhat affordable manifold?

XS Power is junk, that manifold will crack on you even though it says it will not crack I can 100% guarantee it will. Dont use a DSM turbo on a Honda a t3/t4 .50 trim .63 AR stage 3 wheel is a good and pretty standard turbo for a DD Honda. You will be much happier with that turbo then the TDO5H. If it was a TDO5H-R twin scroll that would be a better DSM turbo to run. If you really want to use the tiny 14B you are best off having a manifold made for it.

A local tuner shop should be able to help you out. But like I said a TDO5H 14B is not the best turbo to got with, may be better on a D series but I know that on B series they are no good. They will make power but the Vtec head will out flow the small turbo and max it out really quick.

I've heard that they work fairly well with the D series engines. Also, the B14 is what is affordable for me right now, and I'm not looking to gain huge amounts of power, just a nice bump in HP is all I'm after.

I'm looking at just buying a cast iron log T3 manifold and getting and adapter for it...or is that a bad idea?

A 14b, dsm t25,nisson t25/528, stock saab and volvo turbos all do pretty well on a d-series and are pretty damn cheap..... as for a manifod just get a cast manifold, standard t3 and t2 manifolds on ebay are 100 or less and if you end up with a funky flanged turbo go with the t3 cast and an adapter flange

200whp on a small framed turbo like I listed will walk the n/a b-series guys w / bolt ons

Those turbos do ok on D series better than what they do on a B. Cast Ebay manis are ok, they will not crack. I am using one on my current build.

Sounds like your really on a budget.... IIRC, you can use the CX stock manifold and have an adaptor plate mated to it and then your good to go.... even cheaper than the ebay stuff and should last just as long if not longer. 180-220whp should be cake and the power band will be nice and fat.... Good luck

just get an HF manifold with a flange adapter
Buddy did this in '05 with DSM hand me downs. D16Z6 DSM T25 turbo, DSM injectors, and DSM side pocket intercooler with a velocity stack cut into the pass side bumper for cooling. That thing would move and wuz fun to drive around town. Def an under rated setup.

He had someone make himi the plate but i know companies like BMR race make them.

hf manis go for like 25-50 plus shipping if he has to buy it online 45-55 for the adapters....same price as a 60 cast ebay mani and 30 adapter and atleast the cast mani will be good for upgrades down the road.....

click the link in my signature for my build thread.....in the first post should be a link to my original build thread which was a saab gt17, hf mani/adapterplate, 310cc inj, and a whole lot of home made fun on a d15b7....somewhere in the neighborhood of 180 whp and that thing was fun as hell 2200 - 6k it held strong and 6-6.5 it started falling flat had that sucker up to 16psi by 3k in second....lol

My old 190k LS traps 108 and runs 13.8 in a full weight ek coupe on a 14b. Not bad for an 80 dollar turbo and shitty mail in tune.

Thanks for all the advice. I think that I'm gonna go with a cheap cast iron T3 mani like most of your were suggesting, and then get an adapter flange. Wish me luck!

Also, do I need gaskets for both sides of the adapter flange?

I recommend not using an adapter plate. one of my first ghetto turbo setups was HF -> bmc race 14b plate -> 14b. it hung the turbo so low it was very difficult getting the oil to drain without backing up.

but if you do insist, yes you will need all gaskets. mani to plate gasket (t3) and plate to turbo (t25 flange i believe)

the 14b flange and t25 are not the same

there are a few flanges on ebay that arent the 3in long ones that hang the turbo so low
