Default evo 8 turbo on my honda?

i kno it's been done...i've got a t3 manifold that i want to use with a evo 8 turbo. i know the flanges are different and i'm sure i can bring the mani and turbo to a machine shop to have them make me an adapter flange but i was wondering if there were already any on the market? i did a quick search but didn't find anything on google. any good info is welcomed. thx!

the evo 8 turbo is a twin scroll turbo
so no you cant use your manifold even if you make an adaptor for it. cilinder's 1& 4 and 2&3 are supose to be matched up

and evo turbos are tiny and do not work well with the high reving high VE vtec heads

if you want fast spool just buy a cheep garrett 50 trim and you will have fast spool and great power

i did hear it was twin scroll and i was honestly just gonna use it til i was done with my real project because driving a slow dd is really hurting me. lol. thanks for the advice...i may just go with a small garrett like i originally planned. thanks again, any other input would be appreciated

and if you just being cheap, find a z31 300zx turbo. it's a straight t3.

z31 oldschool turbo..yea not too bad. and i am being cheap right now as seeing that i'm almost done fully building the motor and i'll be boosting a diff motor til this one is done. i want the weaklink to be the turbo so when my new motor is done i'll just slap it in, swap turbos...and keep it moving.

That graph is for an evo9 turbo, not an evo8. Evo 9's cost bout $500 used

sell the turbo and just buy a straight t3

you would need a total custom manifold, not worth it unless you have some $$$$$

your just going to waist a lot of money with the custom twin scroll manifold you will have to make. and you will be stuck runing that turbo. just run a small t3 garrett turbo and you will make more power it will be cheeper and you will always have the option to upgrade to off the shelf garrett turbos later on for more power (gt30r gt35r)

My 1st gripe with that statement: as I probably posted in that link Shodan posted, I've seen an evo8 turbo with a clipped stock turbo hit ~425 <U>a</U>whp with meth/h2o on the stock motor. The car was recently upgraded to a GT35 and was tuned to a bit over 600 <U>a</U>whp.

My 2nd gripe: not everyone's goal is all-out HP. Some people actually want a streetable setup, meaning ~300whp and fast spool. Given what a comparable Garrett turbo costs new, even having an evo flange welded onto a normal manifold can be cheaper.

In other words, don't always put your faith in "the bandwagon". But then again, this is H-T.

If you have a T3 manifold, look towards a 60 trim T3 or 50 trim t3/t04e if you are looking for something with a nice streetable powerband.

As for the Evo 8/9 turbo. Excellent turbo choice for those looking for a true street car. Compressor wheel is small but flows a lot of air. The turbine wheel is a bit small and ends up limits the compressor wheel. Really great choice for those looking to make sub 350whp. As good as a GT28rs. To get the most out of the compressor wheel you are going to have to get a bigger turbine housing and run a 3" exhaust at minimum. Read the thread posted above. Towards the end, people with experience speak up and you see what the turbo can do. Just be prepared to pay a little extra for a custom manifold.

just because u have a turbo with a divided housing doesn't mean u need to run a manifold with a divided housing also. its just that if you don't have the divided housing u just won't take advantage over the extra spool time u get. there are plenty of people that use twin scroll turbos on a non-divided turbo manifold. if your looking for something temporary and cheap and its within the power goal u want just do it.
