Hyperco announces New Technology...Carbon-Composite Bellows Springs!

The Hyperco Carbon-Composite Bellows Spring is a new / revolutionary (patent pending) product-technology from Hyperco / MW Industries. It replaces traditional compression springs. It is unique in that it is tunable / configurable for both spring rate and spring deflection. Hmm these are interesting but not sure how long until they make it down to the type of vehicles we run.

 

If the springs really are $75/corner them I'm totally up for it if there was a way they would work with my Koni/GC setup on the CRX. I love trying new stuff on the race car.

I'm pretty sure that's $75 per carbon disk. Based on the picture there, that'd be $675 per corner.

 

I have seen these in other engineering applications and often wondered if they would be any good used as part of a suspension system. I guess Hypercoil have answered that one!

Are these just CF belleville springs?

 

Then that's too expensive for a CRX.

One other downside to these is the OD of the 2.5" spring is 4.4".
