Default Vehicle speed sensor

After attempting to clean off my b18a1 transmission i noticed that i had a couple of cut hoses coming from the speed sensor on the transmission. Alot of people have been telling me that it for the power steering but there is only one problem. If i'm correct my 88 crx si doesnt come with powering steering. my question is it necessary to use these hoses or can i block them off to the point of where i dont need to use them? Or would i have to add power steering to my car?

p.s. this is b18a1cable tranny going with a b18b1 motor

Loop one of the the power steering VSS hoses to the fitting of the other hose. That will keep crap out of it. Replace your cut speedometer cable and you are done.

No you don't need to hook them up. The b18 had power steering that is why they are there

You don't need them at all. It is probably a better idea to not get crap in there, so just plug the holes. The easiest way to do that is to just loop one of the hoses to both fittings.
