just wondering if an automatic transmission from a 2004-05 would fit on my 01 ? my transmission now doesnt go into any gear at all pretty much in neutral all the time. first it started slipping from 2nd to 3rd then eventually went nowhere after. please helppp

 

Yes it'll fit, just make sure trim models are the same. You don't want an LX transmission in an EX. (etc)

 

alright thanks because when i go look for transmission the trim models seem to be the same for some odd reason ??

 

DX, LX, and VP use same engine (D17A1) and transmission.

EX uses D17A2 engine and transmission has shorter gear ratios.

 

Hey I know his thread is old but I'm having the same problem as well and was looking into getting a 04-05 Civic auto transmission. But I was just wondering would it matter if I purchase a 04-05 transmission that is US built, Canadian built, or Japan? I'm not sure if hey are all the same and would fit properly. I have an 02 Civic Lx that's built in US. Thanks ahead of time and some knowledge or information would be greatly appreciated.

 

You should be fine with any of those. They're all wired the same.
