Just got my setup put together and have a small issue. Isnt directly related to boost but this forum gets more traffic than tech/misc. move if it needs to be.
I bought a jg vic x with tb from a member on here and it came dual drilled. he had it on a b16 head and thats what im using it on, but it appears to have been for an ls or gsr originally.
i had an itr im/tb on before this and my idle was normal, but after the new mani and tb my idle is 2000-2200 with iacv plugged up, around 1200-1500 with it unplugged.
ive found no vacuum leaks at all. sprayed everywhere around the manifold. my timing isnt too far advanced, and theres no tension on the throttle cable.
is there a possibility that since the flange is drilled for an ls(thats what my friend said the pattern was) and b16 that theres a vacuum leak i havent been able to find at the flange itself? i really dont want to buy another manifold if i dont have to but im at the point where that may be my only option if i dont get any other suggestions. thanks!

take the manifold off and see if hte intake manifold gasket matches up with the holes. make sure the injector seals arnt leaking. did you make sure you didnt get the plugs mixed up.

manifold definitely matches up to the gasket as far as stud holes. the only one that doesnt have a nut on it is the top center stud because the flange on the vic x doesnt extend up that far, however all other nuts are plenty tight and the leak isnt there, ive checked.
the injector seals are good as well.
which plugs are you referring to?

iat and iavc
i think theres another plug back there has the same connector
is it 2200 rpm idle when the engine is hot or cold? if its cold , thats normal

nah ive got the plugs in the right spot. idle goes down 500-700 when i unplug iacv like it should, and i get an accurate iat reading because ive hooked my aem up to check that.
idle is higher when warm than when i initially crank it up. definitely not a normal idle. also, it will drop a few hundred rpm when im at a complete stop vs when im coasting out of gear. coolant systems been bled as well

If it does not have that protruding tang at the upper middle bolt, it is definitely an LS manifold. What # is stamped on the underside of the manifold? It is stamped by the IACV, the LS is 4767, the B16/ITR should be 4764. I remember holding my gasket up to it, and there was something that did not line up that well.

after looking at pics, its definitely a redrilled ls intake manifold. it has raised stud holes on the sides and the middle is not.
when i held my gasket to it, it looked good. i may have a local friend with a b16 vic x to swap out with me to see if the manifold is the issue or not
