Default H22A Crankshaft Pulley

I've been trying to take the crankshaft pulley off of the H22A but it wont budge. I heard that because it is a japanese engine everything is backwards, so instead of left=loose and right=tight its right=loose and left=tight. Is this true?

I only have a flux core welder so I know it looks pretty shitty but I did what I could when it came to welding them together.

That is freaking awesome destruction right there. Maybe try penetrating fluid/liquid wrench then hit it with a impact gun?

Spray some PB Blaster on it and let it soak for a couple minutes and then hit it with the impact gun.

My tool is a Snap On brand. Im not sure what the material of yours is made from not that it matters in this case but I did notice that the Snap On's arm is shorter which would make it less likely to bend like yours did.

You can use a gun but in your case you might have to use a Nitro gun or 3/4. Just hope the head does break off leaving the shank in the crank.

Heres some guys trying to different strokes

The last shop I went to told me to go to another shop that has a 1/2 impact gun. So hopefully tomorrow that will be able to remove it.

Man, what you (and these fukn n00b shops!) need is heat! Throw the torch on it and watch how easily it breaks loose.

i had the worst time getting my crank pulley bolt off of my b16 (motor out of car at the time)

i eventually used a piece or angle iron welded to a bolt, and i installed it into the trans and blocked the flywheel.

then i used my 1/2in 19mm socket and ratchet and a 4 foot piece of pvc pipe, and after about 15 mins, it eventually gave way...and i broke the end of the pvc pipe in the process

If you don't have access to heat, the next best thing that works for me is using a good piece of 2x4 to smack the **** outta the breaker bar. Usually 3 or 4 good whacks is enough to break the bolt loose. This is easier with 2 people, one being brave enough to hold the breaker bar while the other goes to bat lol. The problem with using big cheater pipes on your breaker bars is you're not able to apply the hammer action that you get with a bad *** impact gun. You're just applying a bunch of leverage, which can lead to you raping your fender when the bolt finally pops loose.

Funny

But i was able to get it off today. I went to a truck shop and they used a 1" impact gun. He said it had to be torqued pretty high cause it didnt come off right away with the 1" impact. Took a little before it gave way..

Thanks for all the help guys!!
