Help with shaking steering wheel.
I just got four brand new 205/45/16 toyo proxes4 tires last week. the tires are well-balanced by the shop, but when the car is up to 60 mph on the freeway, the steering wheel shakes and the car is very floppy. ALignment was done in August this year. I checked underneath the car everything looks normal except for a couple of bad bushings at the front LCA. What could be the cause for the shaking steering wheel and the floppy feeling if alignment and tires balance are not the issues???
it's like a moderate vibration whenever I am up to 60mph, plus the car feels like loose and sloppy when I accelerate and turn! could bad axles and front LCA cause this problem, cuz i was told that the cv boot was ripped by the alignment shop.

Yes it will when if they get bad enough. They stop turning perfectly and kinda catch making them spin almost off balanced. This problem will only be amplified by the bad lca bushings. Replace the axles and im sure things will get alot better.
Thx a bunch! i'm planning to get a pair of Hasport Entry axles. are they better than Kragen oem rebuilt axles performncewise??
Well, if you didn't have the shake before the tires were put in, it is still entirely possible that they were not balanced correctly at the shop. it would be worth it to bring them back to the same shop and ask them to put them on the spinner and confirm they are balanced - maybe some of the wheel weights fell off?!
