Default Crv with tar

I noticed when I washed my 2011 crv yesterday it had some nasty sticky stuff on the roof. I scubed it but it wouldn't come off. Just managed to scratch my paint a little. What can I use that won't hurt my paint. It's a new car and I plan to have it for awhile so I don't want to use something harsh that will cause me getting sunfade later on down the road.

adhesive remover or wax and grease remover. (wax and grease isn't as strong and might not get it off)

also works with tree sap

Don't scrub anything off your paint btw. You should be able to remove it without scrubbing, just by using the proper product like mentioned above.

Spray the product on the affected area while the car is dry. Let it set for a few minutes and then get to washing.

My favorite product for normal bug and tar issues is the gel product in the blue bottle. I think it's made by Rain-X or possibly Turtle Wax. It should help you with most of your tar problems.

For stuff around the house I've found that some oil such as wd40 or cooking oil works nicely to break down the tar, and as far as I've seen it doesn't harm the paint at all.
