how to get gum off paint
well yea i managed to run over gum i guess, it looked like i had just gone through like a really dirty mudpuddle and i touched it and its horrible. those that live in the bay area know that it was like 90 degrees or so...so its really really soft and if i touch it, it just spreads, i noticed it today, and i dont know if i want to wash it or not to try to get the gum off...i contemplated whether or not to use goo remover or some other type of solvent or thinner but i know that it will dull the paint dramatically, what do i do??
i searched, and i dont have anywhere close to buy a claybar, nor can i really afford anything over $10, im a broke **** at the moment.

i used goo gone and 3m adhesive remover on on my car paint before. they didnt hurt it, at least not for the duration it was exposed. if you are concerned, just do it quickly and wash it off with soap and water after you are done.
and just in case, dont use simple green. that stuff does affect paint.

Use Kerosene gas, it will not react with your car's finish.
I always use it on my car since I removed the mud guards atlease twice a month coz my car is white and tar accumulates on the doors and rear bumper.

actaully that happened to me one time, my friend tried to throw some gum out the window one time. I let it dry and harden, then just used my finger nail and chipped it off. The heat will speed up this process
