Sorry Paul, didn't know you were driving but you still my friend, I did enjoy the pics in Meris FB page about Kiwis car. Nice pictures. And since you are up there with the bunch say hi to everyone. We are planning something for next year see if we can realize it.

Who was "Team Chapter Eleven Racing" and Props for finishing the race as strong as you did.
True grass root racing. Surrounded on all sides by six-figure racing rigs with serious assets on display, any of us weekend warriors could relate to working out of the back of a small trailer and a card table tool set-up in the pits. A tiny asian girl wearing a nomex firesuit doing fueling. Seeing no-money vs unlimited money teams side by side was quite a contrast.
Nice job swapping the tranny at 9am in maybe 50 minutes to finish the race. You guys obviously had a great deal of fun out there. And driving a stock D16Y7 SOHC in an LX Hatchback as far as I could tell.
The attrition rate was nothing short of astonishing, the field of ~82-84 starting to barely 40 at the checker flag, you did well, congratulations.
Edit: Just saw the results, 45th overall, 6 laps ahead of the Honda Racing Team HART/HPD, among others (no disrespect to HART/HPD, realizing the amount of testing going on, HPD was more of a R&D shake down than race). That's one of the many contrasts that caught my eye trackside. -- Dave

You can say that again they did great for having a low budget and all the heart to win!
Congrats to them for putting forth such a monumental effort.
I crewed for one of the E30 teams (we were low budget, too) near the "Chapter 11 Racing Team". Good folks. I talked to a few of the team members. My understanding is that they had originally planned to campaign a different car but something happened and they pulled the Civic hatch out of storage for the race (correct me if I'm wrong).
They did seem to be having issues with the car. Looked like it may have been front suspension and/or transmission-related. Regardless, they did take the checker flag at the end!
On a side note, I'm really surprised that there weren't more Honda/Acura entries at this race. I counted 7 total Hondas and Acuras. And no CRXes!! WTF?
