Default i could use some information about super charging my Integra

I have a 2001 Integra GSR with only an AEM cold air intake, and a Greddy Evolution cat back exhaust. I'm really interested in supercharging or turbo charging my car. I found a bolt on super charger kit for 1994-2001 integra made by vortech http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...01integra.html
If anyone has any information or advice please help me out.

i heard that the vortech sc are not that great for getting power and that they only produce power at the end of you power band. and you need power throughout the power band. I would go with a turbo.

Try doing a search. There's a ton of info that will answer your questions. There was even a thread not too long ago about vortech sc's. Good luck.

Go study turbos, they're great. I reccommend a Revhard kit.

I have a 2001 GS-R with the Greddy EVO exhaust and the AEM CAI and DC 4-1 type R headers. curious how did you get your evo to fit I had to cut a piece off of mine to make it fit. But anyways I am going with a Jackson Racing Super Charger. Although you can definitely make more power with a turbo, Greddy does not make a kit for are year. So JRSC is the way to go. If your car is your only car like mine is Turbo is not a really good idea. The high compression ratio can be altered with a thicker head gasket and new pistons. So about $5,500 later you can have a safely set up turbo. Now the wear that will occur is because with a turbo once it has reached the rpm where it reaches full boost (usually about 3,000 rpm) it is running on full boost even while your driving at a normal speed on the freeway. Where with the JRSC you can have 6 psi or more simply by getting on the gas, the supercharger is very responsive and does not take time to spool up. Check out http://www.jacksonracing.com A supercharger costs about $2,700 and with a little ecu tuning by Apexi or Hondata you should be ok. Turbos aren't bad, but the JRSC is more economical for a daily driver.

Study turbos if you want lots of power, vortechs kit is garbage, only PEAK PEAK hp gains NOTHING anywhere else... a turbo gives you more curve then that kit.

Research Drag 3 kits, Rev Hard stage2(c), F-max

Fuel options.... you need to learn most of the basics on your own here, just do a search for BROAD topics and take your time man, don't rush....

hey thanks for all the info guys, i will take my time and do some more research. As for my Evo exhaust... i'm not sure how it fit cuz i had a shop do it. That was a big mistake anyway, i've learned that if ya want something done right then do it yourself.

Try the forced induction forum.....Just to let you know, they will probably all tell you to go turbo. If not, stay away from vortech, is you decide to go SC, go with a roots style blower.

Well i think i'm leanin towards a jrsc but what all would i have to change on my engine? The turbo seems costly and bit harder on my engine. I'm just a daily driver that wants some more power but i don't want to kill my engine.

You had trouble getting yours to fit because of your 4-1 header. Compare the length of your stock exhuast mani. and the DC

"Nossssssssssssss!" (F and F) .If your like me, an everyday commuter in a city like Chicago and close suburbs, go with nitrous. Its doesnt beat on your engine as much as a turbo b/c you only use it when needed. Plus it's a hell lot cheaper. No one expects u to smoke them b/c u dont have a turbo on ur "ricer"- its seems that its a typical stereo-type today that makes u a lot of money from racing.

Actually the DC header and the stock header were the same length. Greddy only makes a EVO for the 99 and down cars, which have shorter cats. So with my longer cat I had to cut a piece off of the Exhaust it had nothing to do with the header, I didn't the header till later on.

everyone just loves turbos on here don't they. haha...well yea turbo is great for top end power and overall straight line performance. but for daily driving, try jackson racing SC...with 9 psi of boost u will make good power on a gsr (check the dyno)...and great daily driver low-end torque, no lag. and great for the track too, for power outta the tight corners, well i loved mine at the track, i didn't have heat probs of anysort.
