In fear of blown headgasket
Hi guys, so I can be overprotective at times and I hope this is just another one of those times, so fairly recently my vic has been running a lil hot, so I put some coolant in it, but the problem persists so the next place I was thinking of looking was the thermistat, but something told me to check the coolant level. when I removed the radiator cap I saw that the inside of the radiator overflow thing was a muddy brownish yellow color which kinda scared the **** outta me. from what I know a blown head gasket would cause some white-ish residue on the oil dip-stick, so I check the dipstick and it looks normal, are there any other major clues as to what kinda problem i have? here are some observations I made when trying to diagnose
1.) car Idles fine
2.)heater doesn't blow hot air (coolant?)
3.)the car doesn't seem to get hott till it sits at a stoplight (fan?)
4.) I honestly didnt look to see any white smoke in the exhaust
5.) color of the radiator overflow thing is a brownish goop instead of the neonish watery green,
any input would be greatly appreciated as always fellas
