Default Axles/ CV joint help

How many splines on a automatic 89 civic dx ,23 or 26?
Yes i googled em but some are saying
4 speed=23
5 speed=26

and the other saying

HF=23
Dx,si,Lx=26

Not too sure if it matters for auto or manual on a dx
Please help thanks in advance.

If you're having a hard time finding info why dont you just pull the easiest axle out (passenger axle) and just count it.

What are you trying to do exactly?
Just look up the part numbers someplace like
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...ry5=DRIVESHAFT

Same exact part number for the auto and manual trans 89 DX.

The only odd axles are the HF and STD.
They will plug into the tranny, but the hub side is different.

4dref Just answered your question. Auto and manual are the same part number so they are the same part.
