the holes on the ls gear ring and gsr gear ring do not line up. if u want to use a gsr gear ring, u need a gsr diff or lsd. if u want to use the ls gear ring u need an ls diff or lsd.
i think that you can. not entirely sure though. i would imagine that you could cause the gear rings are the same diameter. only one way to find out though....gotta try. as long as the holes on the diff and gear ring line up u should be good to go.
id just get a lsd though. ur gonna like it way more than the stock diff, just dont buy obx. here is why...

i bought a wavetrac lsd for my gsr tranny, paid a lil more for it, but like they say u get wat u pay for. havent had any problems with it yet.

If you run the LS ring gear you need to run the LS counter shaft, they are the same ratio but over time they kinda "cut" themselves to fit perfectly, people have swapped these parts around but most have premature failure. You will also want to check the diff shim and change it if it is not in spec, same with the main shaft shim, this always needs to be done when changing cases, or shafts, or gears. Good luck.
