Default Reputable shops near Chicago?

Looking into pressing out the frm sleeves in my h22a4, and replacing them with steel sleeves. Any pros/cons to this setup? Can I still use stock pistons, rods, etc...? Also any tips on a well known, friendly, not trying to take ALL my money, shop would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

There's no reason to replace FRM. It's functionally a better liner material than iron.

You absolutely won't find a better shop in the area than Profunction.

OP, take some time and read the All Motor forum before going crazy with your build. It sounds like an OEM rebuild, so sleeving may not be the best option. Anyway, we are pretty lucky to be in an area where some of the best shops in the country exist:

King Motorsports (near Milwaukee)
One6 Motorsports (Elk Grove)
Suja 1 (Addison)
Profunction (Schaumburg-didn't realize they moved back north!)

Seriously??? I guess everyone that has iron sleeved their block to run forged slugs didn't know what they're doing? Sort of at a loss for words here.
And from the Prelude MOD too?
Someone is dead wrong here, unless we're referring to the cost and/or just doing an OEM rebuild with OEM pistons.
Can't say Ive heard of anyone getting to far with Forged slugs in FRM unless they were JUN/Cosworth, and some have had luck with Mahle.

My friends in Chicagoland really like the shops that Mugen22 posted as well.

Read the first post. No one said a larger iron bore wouldn't be better. He wants to use stock pistons. FRM is a better material for heat transfer and wear. There's no reason for him to spend more money to stay the same size and give up those advantages.

I guess it was just your wording. "NO REASON"
There are plenty of reasons to do it.....just not for him to use OEM pistons.
Agreed though, I can't see spending the $1k for sleeving to use stock pistons.
IDK about the WEAR though, seems like FRM/H series takes more of a beating over time that the F/B sleeves do.

Yeah I'd have to say this is a big one. I rolled the dice and ran type-s pistons in the H23v I built for my 5th gen. Needless to say rings arent seating and it will get torn apart this spring and sleeved.

Okay, sounds like we have a decent argument. I heard steel sleeves are much better at sealing the oil from blowing by the rings, at the cost of not being as durable. With frm, the sleeves last longer, but the seals burn up more quickly. That being said, what would be the best route to getting my h22 to last the longest without needing another rebuild?

While I doubt your average builder can match OEM Honda Build quality, OEM is the way to go. I mean, people have gotten 200k+ miles out of stock H22s.
People don't use STEEL sleeves, they use Iron sleeves when replacing stock sleeves IIRC. Ductile Iron is one that comes to mind.
I'd question a shop that claims they can do an OEM rebuild as high quality as OEM Honda built engines. I'd also steer away from them if they don't have H series experience. If they do a rebuild like they would with a B series, you're screwed.

My h22a4 has 201k on it. Smokes like a son of a b**** after about 5k rpms. I already know I need rings/valve seals. Don't know if i'll have to oversize the cylinder walls because I havent cracked open the motor yet. Now my main question is, who has expierience with oversize pistons, that aren't too pricey but will seal/last for a while?
