Ok i am pretty sure the answer to the question is no but i want a definite answer. I am going to be replacing my steering wheel in the new few weeks. I have to shut off the power to the car via disconnecting the negative battery terminal from the battery. This won't mess up the settings on the VAFC correct?

No, you can even disconnect the V-AFC from it's harness when the car is off and it wont erase its memory. As long as the car is off you'll be fine

What happens if you disconnect the vafc from the plug and try to start and drive the car?

 

The car would run all fugged up. I accidently did it and my Idle was at like 100rpms and everything was acting shitty. Don't do it.

 

Can you still drive it? Thinking about using it as a theft deterrant.

 

Yeah, you can still drive it. But a thieve would **** up your car bad if he drove like that.
