Default D16a6>b18a1 wiring help

Need help ASAP: Currently in the process of swapping from a d16a6 to a b18a1 in a crx -si. All the mechanical parts have fallen into place but the car will not produce spark. All grounds are good (including thermostat housing) and everything from the a6 harness is plugged into the b18. Fuel pump runs, but were not getting any power to the distributor. Tried swapping the white wires in the large distributor plug. nothing changed... Need help asap, thank you

-Ben

It's either a bad distributor component or faulty ECU. You need to search more because you dont need to change a thing to drop in a B18A1 aside from the ECU on a Si. So why in the world would you swap the wires around? Put them back. Here is a link to a thread that has pictures of the manual on how to troubleshoot a code 15...

It can be that hence why I said "distributor component". It can be the Igniter (Ignition Control Module), the Ignition Coil, faulty wiring, or the ECU.

The Si (d16) harness is still in the car, just affixed to the b18. We are stumped and trying everything to figure out the problem.

the two pin connector to the distributor has battery power swapping coils and igniters now to see if that changes

we just took a perfectly good distributor and installed it on the car and it was not producing any spark. after it failed we put it back on the car it came from and it fired right up...

So what was it? Posting a solution to a problem you have encountered can help someone else in the future, it's kind of the whole point of these forums and telling people to search...
